Powerball Players Excited $100,000 Prize was not a Dream

Dec 08, 2025

A Cole County man thought he was dreaming when his wife tried to wake him up and tell him they had won a $100,000 Powerball prize in the Nov. 29 drawing.

“He had already went to bed when I was checking the numbers on my phone,” the wife shared. “I took the ticket to him and asked, ‘Do you see what I am seeing?’”

“The next morning he asked, ‘Did I dream we won the lottery?’” she laughed, explaining he hadn’t fully woken up the night before. “I thought about messing with him, but I decided not to. It’s very exciting to win!”

The ticket, purchased at Gerbes, 2805 W. Truman Blvd. in Jefferson City, matched four of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number drawn, to win a $50,000 base prize. Because they had added the Power Play option to their ticket, the prize was instantly doubled to $100,000 when the Power Play number drawn was 2. The winning numbers for the Nov. 29 drawing were 19, 22, 30, 32 and 59 with Powerball of 1.

Powerball is a is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Tonight’s estimated jackpot is $875 million.

In FY25, players in Cole County won more than $16.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $5.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
